In
a pressure assist drainfield, the wastewater is pumped
to the field because it cannot flow by gravity. Wastewater
flows from the septic tank to the pump chamber where it is
pumped uphill and dispersed by gravity through the absorption
field lines. Other than the addition of the pump chamber,
this system operates identically to a septic tank-soil absorption
system.
